What’s in your attic? This is a question that the team at Peak Spray Insulation can answer for you. At Peak, we know that your attic can be out of sight and out of mind. But the truth is that unlike the walls of your house, you cannot simply set it and forget it.
Attics require ventilation. This means that your attic needs to breathe
It should allow in as much air as it expels. This constant flow of air is meant to prevent condensation in your attic space. However at the same time, this air movement can cause what is known as wind wash. Wind wash can move insulation from one area of your attic to another and in some cases leave a section with no insulation at all. This is even more likely in a windy open area and is very common on acreages.
At Peak Spray Insulation we offer a free 6 point attic inspection to homeowners and businesses. Reach out today to book yours. After the inspection is completed, our estimator will provide you a check list of the inspection and make recommendations if any are needed.

What Insulation is best for my attic?
Fiberglass or Cellulose?
Fiberglass Loosefill Insulation would be the most common product we use in attics in Edmonton. It is a lighter material with slightly less concern of compacting. Cellulose is made of recycled paper and has a bit higher R-Value per inch of material. However the higher R-Value per inch is generally not beneficial for attic spaces as there is typically plenty of room for the material either way.
